Just last weekend I went out for a gals night out. We decided to start our evening for dinner at Boneta in Vancouver’s Gastown (12 Water street).
I’ve never been to Boneta for a super long time – the last time was when they were at the old location on Cordova. The one item in the menu I never forgot about was their mini gnocchi! Yum. So delish and I highly recommend.
Before I dived into my buttery gnocchi that I was craving for, I had to order their Sweet Pea Soup with seared scallop, local herb crouton, and truffle oil.
The verdict of Bonetas Sweet Pea Soup?
This soup was so fresh tasting and the peas so sweet! I am pretty sure the soup had some creme fraiche as well. The texture was velvety smooth and light. The scallop and the small amount of truffle oil just completed the soup with the right touch of luxury. Everything played well together. This is one soup I insisted on my gal pals to try and they concurred on it being very fine soup!
I would love to try and recreate this soup and a visit to Granville island may be in store soon to find me some fresh sweet peas!
